How I was treated during my work experience
As a company, Reflect Digital was outstanding at introducing me to their company; I felt extremely welcome and in place, as all the staff were exceptionally enthusiastic about informing me of their roles and responsibilities in the workplace. I was often included in activities and meetings which meant that I could progress my understanding of the different jobs and identify where I fit in. The staff gave a great explanation of their job which I found useful to help expand my knowledge. Overall, everyone was so kind and helpful which made my experience so much better.
What I did for my work experience
Before my work experience placement, I was quite naive to digital marketing as I had not had any experience in the area, however, I found myself knowledgeable of the different areas of digital marketing by the end of my work experience as I was educated with such passion and detail. The work I had been set was encouraging and challenging which pushed my potential to its limit and helped me to step out of my comfort zone.
I have spent lots of time carrying out research, improving websites and expanding my knowledge. Before coming to Reflect Digital, I had no experience in digital marketing nor did I have any idea of what it would be like. However, after being given multiple exciting and challenging tasks, I felt I had gained experience in digital marketing and work ethics. I would say my favourite task set was an SEO copywriting task I was given where I had to improve a website and adapt it to be more relatable to the target audience. This was the most interesting to me because it allowed me to use skills that I had already learnt and apply them to new skills that I was taught at Reflect Digital, giving me an outstanding outcome. Although this was my favourite, I enjoyed every task I was set.
How to gain the most out of your work experience
I would say to gain the most out of your work experience, you should ask lots of questions and try your hardest. I found it very useful to ask questions when I was unsure of the meaning of something or a task I was being set as it helped me to fulfil the task to the best ability. Also, make sure you show a good commitment to your experience and make sure that you act responsibly and be as reliable as possible. This will help you to show that you are a good person to hire as they can count on you but I also found that it helped me to build a relationship with the people I was working with.
